Update from the Netherlands

Wifi is spendy here so I’ll post the day blogs when I can. In the meantime, I had a terrible flu/cold, and went to Eindhoven in Holland. There, I presented at the Benelux content days and enjoyed meeting colleagues and customers from this part of the world.

After 2 days, I moved on to Amsterdam, where I was supposed to meet another customer, but it did not happen due to the long holiday here which means most companies are closed.

I visited Amsterdam, plus a friend in nearby Bussum and today I’m in Alkmaar, basically the Dutch tourist trap for cheese heads.

Trains are good here, but very confusing, especially when you have to change.

The Netherlands is beautiful. Very green and flat with canals everywhere. Everyone has an old bicycle and uses it daily i think.

It’s asparagus season (still) so I had the typical asparagus meal of white asparagus, ham, boiled egg, new potatoes and butter. Oh, did I mention that dairy is HUGE here? Drink choices at one location were: milk or buttermilk. Um…

Daunting language, but nice people who all seem to speak fluent English. That’s very nice if them, I think. I like it here.
