UK – Day 6: Beachy Curry

So I managed to get out three times today. Yay. After bringing back the food for the “full English” breakfast, we had the breakfast and it was good. Too bad I finished off the black pudding. Before you say anything naysayers, you don’t know what you are missing. 🙂

Then I went out again, this time for a walk to the sea. There is a private estate between the house and the sea. There is a gate designed to keep out the riff-raff, but pedestrians can go through. The types of houses there ranged from very fancy mock tudor houses with wrought iron fences to simple bungalows from the 60s.

After about a 15 minute walk, I made it to the grassy area just above the sea. It seems oddly appropriate in England that the beach has grass on it. Once again, pebbles, no sand. Plus did I mention it was rainy, overcast and grey? I wandered around for a while and then headed back home. It was nice to see the sea. I was looking off the beach, and if it was clear, I might have been able to see France across the English Channel.

I wandered back from the sea and waited around for a few hours before dinner. For some reason, the internet was not working today, so I spent a frustrating few hours rebooting an ADSL modem. Wifi stays up for 1 minute and then goes away.

I am going to London tomorrow to see family and a friend. Should be good. It will certainly make a change from the tiny town of Rustington.

One more trip today – went to Monsoon – highly recommended as a decent Indian restaurant. I had the somewhat rare to find “Chicken Jalfrezi” – a favorite of mine. Pretty good.
